At 7 a.m. today, Father Diego celebrated Holy Mass for the group in the Grotto of the Annunciation in front of the room where the Archangel Gabriel announced to Mary, “You will conceive and give birth to a son and you will call him Jesus.”  A hearty breakfast awaited the boys back at the Sisters of Nazareth. The group then departed by bus to the Sea of Galilee area where they visited Tabgha, the site of Miracle of the Loaves and fishes. A short pivot route landed them at the Church of the Primacy of Peter where Jesus, appearing to Peter, tested him, and later commissioned the fisherman as the head of the Church, foremost among the fishers-of-men.

The boys then enjoyed the view of the sea from the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus is said to have delivered the Sermon on the Mount. A special lunch was then served to the group at a nearby restaurant featuring St. Peter’s fish, which many curious boys were undoubtedly eager to taste. Having eaten their fill, and unable to deplete the restaurant’s seemingly endless supply of fishes and breads, the boys at last boarded a boat on the Sea of Galilee for a cruise. While anchored on the water where Jesus is said to have walked on water, the boys were led through a meditation.

The evening featured a tour of the ongoing excavations under the Sisters of Nazareth house that many believe to be the site of the “Tomb of a Just Man” (St. Joseph) See below.

The evening concluded with a celebration of Santi Arguello’s 18th birthday!

Tomorrow, the group will bid farewell Nazareth and head to Bethlehem and Jerusalem, where many more wonders await.
