Our Marian pilgrimage to Fatima, Salamanca, Avila, Burgos, Lourdes, and Paris far exceeded our expectations! To say that this was a spiritually enriching pilgrimage is a gross understatement! |

The organizer did a fantastic job on taking care of the trip. It was well planned and it allowed the pilgrims to focus on the pilgrimage itself. With Dan, you’re in good hands. |

Pilgrimage Highlights

Acropolis, Athens
Towering above the city of Athens, the Acropolis of Athens stands as one of the most iconic sites of the ancient world. While renowned for its classical temples and rich Greek heritage, the Acropolis also invites pilgrims to reflect on the meeting of faith, philosophy, and early Christianity in Greece.

Mars Hill, Athens
Located just below the Acropolis of Athens, Areopagus Hill — traditionally known as Mars Hill — is one of the most significant Christian sites in Greece. It was here that St. Paul delivered his famous sermon to the Athenians, courageously proclaiming the “unknown God” and introducing the message of Christ to the intellectual heart of the ancient world.

Monastery of St. John, Patmos
Perched high above the island of Patmos, the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the Christian world. Built in the 11th century in honor of St. John the Apostle, the fortified monastery overlooks the island where tradition holds that John received the divine visions recorded in the Book of Revelation.

Philippi ruins
The Archaeological Site of Philippi marks one of the most important locations in the spread of early Christianity in Europe. It was here that St. Paul established one of the first Christian communities on the continent and baptized Lydia, traditionally recognized as the first Christian convert in Europe.

Baptistery of St. Lydia
Nestled along the banks of the river where tradition says St. Paul baptized Lydia, the Baptistery of Saint Lydia of Philippi commemorates the first recorded Christian baptism in Europe. Lydia, a merchant from Thyatira, embraced the Gospel after hearing Paul preach in Philippi, opening the door to the growth of Christianity across the continent.

Plaka, Athens
Nestled at the foot of the Acropolis of Athens, the historic neighborhood of Plaka is often called the “Neighborhood of the Gods” for its charming streets, neoclassical architecture, and proximity to Athens’ ancient landmarks. With its Byzantine churches, welcoming cafés, and lively atmosphere, Plaka offers pilgrims a chance to experience the cultural heart of Athens while reflecting on the rich history of the city where St. Paul once preached the Gospel to the Greek world.

House of the Virgin Mary
According to Christian tradition, the Blessed Virgin Mary spent her final years there under the care of St. John the Apostle. Today, this Catholic Turkish sanctuary is one of the most revered Marian pilgrimage sites in the world, welcoming pilgrims who come to pray, reflect, and honor the Mother of Christ in a place long associated with her presence and devotion.

Ephesus
The ancient city of Ephesus Archaeological Site is one of the most significant biblical sites in the Christian world. It was here that St. Paul preached and established a thriving early Christian community, later addressed in the Book of Revelation as one of the Seven Churches of Asia. Ephesus is also closely connected to St. John the Apostle and the Blessed Virgin Mary, who according to tradition lived nearby in her final years.

Santorini
Perched above the sparkling waters of the Aegean Sea, Santorini is renowned for its whitewashed villages, blue-domed churches, and breathtaking volcanic landscapes. Beyond its natural beauty, the island offers pilgrims moments of peace and reflection amid the quiet chapels and rich spiritual traditions of the Greek islands. Santorini’s serene atmosphere and stunning sunsets provide a memorable setting to contemplate the beauty of creation and the enduring Christian heritage woven throughout Greece.

St. Dionysius the Areopagite
Named after St. Dionysius the Areopagite, who embraced Christianity after hearing Paul preach on Mars Hill, the cathedral reflects the enduring presence of the Christian faith in the city where the Gospel first reached the Greek world. With its beautiful architecture, sacred artwork, and atmosphere of prayer, the cathedral offers pilgrims a meaningful place to celebrate Mass and reflect on the growth of the early Church.

Rhodes
Steeped in centuries of history, Rhodes is one of Greece’s most captivating islands, renowned for its medieval Old Town, ancient ruins, and stunning coastal scenery. Influenced by Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Crusader traditions, Rhodes offers pilgrims a unique glimpse into the rich cultural and Christian heritage of the eastern Mediterranean.

Crete
Known as the largest and one of the most historic islands in Greece, Crete has been a crossroads of civilizations for thousands of years. Beyond its breathtaking landscapes and ancient heritage, Crete holds an important place in Christian history through the missionary journeys of St. Paul, who entrusted the island’s early Christian community to St. Titus, its first bishop.
