Day 1 Departure

Washington D.C. / Dulles

Depart Dulles Airport mid-afternoon for Warsaw, Poland (Through Frankfurt, Germany)

Warshaw

Day 2

Arrive in Warsaw, Poland mid-morning. Bus Tour of City. Check into hotel. Visit Piluska Park, site of the famous 1979 homily, and stroll around Old Town to see the Royal Castle, St. John’s Cathedral and other religious sites. Mass TBA. Dinner and free time in the evening. Overnight in Warsaw.

Krakow main market square

Day 3

Check out of hotel. Depart for Krakow, stopping at Our Lady of Czestochowa, the Black Madonna, Poland’s national shrine. Check into hotel in Krakow. City tour including Cathedral of Krakow, Wawel Hill and the Royal Castle and Wawel Cathedral, St. Florin Basilica and other sites associated with John Paul while he was Archbishop of Krakow. Mass TBA. Dinner and free time in the evening. Overnight in Krakow.

Kalwaria Zebrydowska

Day 4

In the morning, we will visit the Shrine of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska / Calvary sanctuary in a vast complex of 42 churches and chapels including one which contains the miraculous picture of Our Lady of Kalwaria, and a basilica and Francisan monastery. In the afternoon, we will go to the Shrine of the Divine Mercy where the famous painting and the body of Saint Faustina are found in the basilica. Mass TBA. Dinner. Overnight in Krakow.

Auschwitz

Day 5

Visit Auschwitz (morning tour of concentration camps and cell of Saint Maximillian Kolbe) and the town of Wadowice to see the house where John Paul II was born and the nearby church where he was baptized and attended Mass during his youth. Lunch. Mass TBA. Free evening to visit sites in Old Town Krakow. Overnight in Krakow.

St-Peter basilica

Day 6

Early morning departure (Flight) for Rome arriving by noon in Rome. City tour en route to hotel. Mass TBA. Visit St. Peter’s Basilica & pass through the Holy Door. Complete our Footsteps journey at the Chapel and Tomb of Saint John Paul II. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight in Rome.

Pantheon

Day 7

After breakfast / Mass TBA. 12:00 Angelus / St. Peter’s Square (Pope Francis, pending papal schedule) Walking Tours of Old Rome / and notable churches (Gesu, Pantheon, Minerva ) Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight in Rome.

St. Paul Outside

Day 8

After breakfast depart by bus for Rome’s Major Basilicas. St Mary Major, Catacombs (St. Sebastiano), St. John Lateran and St. Paul Outside the Walls. Return to the hotel. Farewell Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Rome.

Day 9

Depart Rome for Dulles via Frankfurt, arriving early afternoon.
